SHOOT DIARY - DAY 4

During the process of editing our music video, we realised we didn't have a sufficient amount of performance shots to keep our video varied. Therefore, we went back to Keynsham park and filmed under a bridge in a very rural looking area. This follows the codes and conventions of other pop music videos such as the ones I have analysed. Michael Jackson The Way You Make Me Feel and What Goes Around.

SHOOT DIARY - DAY 3

The next shoot that we carried out was the portion of narrative. We filmed the opening scenes of me in the bathroom mirror and seeing Fran in the reflection, at Fran's house, I leave before getting into my car and driving off. As well as this we filmed in Vue cinema's underground car park. We shot the car coming towards Fran from several different angles, low angle side shots and extreme long shots as well as close up reaction shots of me and Fran.

SHOOT DIARY - DAY 2

For the next part of our shoot we travelled to Weston Super-Mare, where we filmed in the surrounding streets and on the beach at night. As it was almost completely pitch black on the beach, we parked the car and turned on the car headlights and set a performance shot in the sand from a front facing long shot and a side mid shot. We also filmed a small portion of narrative where I burn a picture of me and Fran before throwing it into the wind. As well as this we filmed several establishing shots at night to show the location.

SHOOT DIARY - DAY 1

The first location we went to was Keynsham park to film the first lot of our performance shots. In the middle of Keynsham park is a big stage which is used for band performances. It has a plain white background so it was perfect for us to film against. We shot from three different angles, a long shot, a medium close up and a mid shot from the side. As the stage was relatively abandoned it was relatively easy to film from these different angle, we used the tripod and had the song playing through a mobile phone. At the park we also filmed a low angle mid shot of me in sunglasses sat on a bench with the sky in the background, this was to make the male in the video more dominant.
